In the Engset Model is used to dimension nonqueued (immediate service) common equipment pools. It is similar to Erlang B because blocked calls are cleared but it assumes a LIMITED NUMBER OF SOURCES. The caller makes ONE attempt. If the call is blocked, then it is rerouted or overflowed to another group. It is commonly used to size small rural switching units and line concentrators.
